The 1st King George V Definitive Issue – The Double Overprint - 1923
On the 1st of April 1923 the first set of stamps carrying the name of Kuwait were issued. The ½a and 1a stamps are found with the "Kuwait" overprint showing a double overprint. The placements of the double overprint vary.

In 1923 the 3as value was reissued in a new color being ultramarine. It has not been recorded on paper with inverted watermark.
The 1st King George V Definitive Issue – 1924
In addition to the 1923 issue the Ultramarine 3 Annas value was also released with the “Kuwait” overprint in 1924. The exact release date is currently not known.

The 1st King George V Definitive Issue – Inverted Overprint - 1924
A total of 7 values from the 1923 definitive Kuwait issue are known with an inverted overprint. The stamps were never sold at Kuwait Post Office and while they are genuine, as such, their origin is unknown.

In addition to this the 1922 1a official issue was surcharged in error – i.e. “One Anna” on 1 Anna.

In 1926 the 1½as and 2½as value was reissued in a new color being rose-carmine and orange. It has been recorded on paper with inverted watermark.
The 1926 King George V Issue
In 1926 the first eleven values of the new KGV issue were released – some of which are found in different shades of color. The values issued were 3 pies, ½a, 1a, 2as, 3as, 4as, 8as, 12as, 1 rupee, 2 rupees and 5 rupees.
The issue was the first British India issue to be printed at the Security Printing Press at Nasik with the new multi-star watermark. All the values have been recorded on paper with inverted watermark.
